Licensing

Plain-English citation, quotation, and AI-inference terms for Vested content. The machine-readable peer of this page is at /.well-known/rsl.json.

Quotation under fair use

Yes, quote us. Up to 90 words per excerpt, with attribution and a link back.

You may quote our editorial summaries, headlines, and "why this matters" captions in articles, newsletters, posts, and reports. We ask for two things in return:

AI inference and answer-engine citation

Yes, you may cite us in AI answers. Attribution and link-back required.

Vested explicitly permits answer engines and retrieval-augmented assistants (Perplexity, ChatGPT Search, Claude, Bing Copilot, Google AI Overviews, etc.) to cite our content in user-facing responses, on the same terms as quotation: attribution and a clickable link back to the canonical story URL.

For aggregator partnerships and revenue-sharing arrangements, we prefer to work through the Perplexity Publisher Program, TollBit, and Cloudflare Pay-Per-Crawl. Contact [email protected] for direct commercial terms.

Training corpora — by license only

No, do not include our content in training corpora without an explicit license.

Our editorial summaries are AI-assisted but human-supervised; they are licensed for reading and citation, not for ingestion into other models' training corpora. Crawling for training is declined in robots.txt and /.well-known/rsl.json. Inference-time retrieval is permitted (see above).

For training-license enquiries: [email protected].

Bulk redistribution — by license only

Reposting more than three of our stories in full on a third-party surface (newsletter, news site, app) requires permission. Direct re-syndication of our RSS or JSON feed for personal reading is fine and welcomed. For larger reuse: [email protected].

Source content

Headlines, body excerpts, and external links in each story belong to the original publisher. We summarise and link; we do not redistribute source content. The terms above apply to Vested's own editorial layer (summaries, "why this matters" captions, research notes, glossary entries, tools), not to upstream publishers' own content, which remains under their licenses.

Robots and crawl etiquette

See /robots.txt for the per-bot allow/deny list and crawl delay. Aggressive scraping (above 1 req / 2 s sustained) will be rate-limited or blocked.
